  2. In the search box, enter your search terms.
  3. Review your results, and find the item you would like to check out.

Complete instructions on searching for books can be found at How do I find a book using the Discovery search tool?

Locating and Checking Out the Item

The fastest way to get the item you need is to come into the library and locate the item yourself.

  1. If the item you are interested in is listed as Available, take note of the location and call # of the item. Items marked as Unavailable are checked out or missing.

Librarian Tip: Use the Share button to email yourself the record. This information will help you locate the item once you are in the library.

  1. During the library's open hours and using the information in the item record, locate and retrieve the item you want to borrow from the library shelves. If you are unable to locate the item, you can get assistance at the Reference or Circulation Desk.
  2. Take the item and your BearCard to the Circulation Desk. Library staff will check the items out to your library account and let you know when they are due to be returned.
