Question

What library access do I have as a retired UCA faculty member?

Retired faculty have access to:

  • The library’s physical collections. These collections include books, DVDs, audio recordings, and musical scores. Up to six items can be checked out at a time.
  • The library’s computer lab. The lab has desktop computers, scanners, and printing. Please ask at the service desk, and personnel will help you get logged on.
  • The majority of the library’s electronic resources when accessed through the library’s computers or wifi.

Retired faculty DO NOT have access to:

  • The library’s electronic resources from off-campus
  • Interlibrary loan services

Non-UCA resources:

  • Arkansas’s Traveler Statewide Resource project offers off-site access for Arkansas residents to some online databases, made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Arkansas State Library under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.
  • Internet Archive is a nonprofit digital library that offers free access to digital resources including books, music, software, etc.
  • Digital Public Library of America provides access to the digital collections of libraries and archives.

If you have a specific research need or live outside the state of Arkansas, please submit an Ask Us question, and we can help you investigate the resources available to you.
